What is it about?

This paper describes the development of a mobile app for predicting targets for compounds derived from whole cell screening for TB. It describes the data curation and function of the app. It also describes how it can be used to generate the predictions based on molecule similarity.

Why is it important?

Significant efforts are spent performing phenotypic screens against Mtb, the outcome of which is hits and zero information on potential targets or mechanism. TB mobile collated literature on small molecule and their reported targets against TB from the literature. The App provides a convenient look up that is a focused information source and prediction tool.

Perspectives

While not a definitive prediction tool for TB targets, it fills a gap, is portable and free https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tb-mobile/id567461644?mt=8 we also developed a version for Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mmi.android.tbmobile
