What is it about?

We assessed patients at 3 months after they suffered Myocardial Infarction. We found that 21.36% were having clinical depression. Patients who had higher depression score had greater deficit in perceiving the available social support and scored lower score in QoL.

This research shows the importance of mental health intervention among Myocardial Infarction survivors. Intervening for depression improves patient's perception of available social support. This improvement helps in greater physical activity and socialization. ultimately improves Quality of Life.
