What is it about?
Osillometry is a non-invasive measure of lung function, possible even in young children and in those unable to perform the traditional respiratory tests which involve complicated manoeuvres. The use of oscillometry is limited due to a lack of normal reference values in African children. We have developed a reference equation for South African children and adolescents that allows us to determine normal values. This will aid in the diagnosis and management of childhood respiratory diseases.
