What is it about?
In patients with asthma, inhaled steroids are used to control symptoms and prevent asthma attacks. Currently, it is currently unclear whether inhaled steroids also improve long-term lung health. In our review, we analysed data from a variety of studies and found that inhaled steroid provided a small benefit to long-term lung health. The size of the benefit was greater in adults compared to children.
