What is it about?

Our searches of the published and pre-print literature identified 12 cohort studies: three population-based studies showed that severe asthma in adults had a 33% higher hospitalisation risk (95% CI: 1.06 to 1.67) with COVID-19 than those with mild or no asthma. Our analysis has also highlighted the dearth of studies in children with asthma investigating serious COVID-19 outcomes, which will we hope catalyse research efforts in this important field of enquiry.
