To date, there have been few studies on the long-term effectiveness of rehabilitation in asthma. The study demonstrates that persistent and clinically relevant improvements in asthma control and quality of life persist 1 year after the end of rehabilitation (full text of the EPRA-RCT is available online: https://www.aerzteblatt.de/int/archive/article/217391).

Why is it important?

The EPRA trial is the first randomized controlled trial (RCT) comparing asthma rehab with usal care. This increases the evidence.
