What is it about?

Sertraline was studied to see if it helped to relieve chronic breathlessness. It was compared to placebo (sugar tablets). This was a large, multi-site study where the effects were evaluated at the end of one month of therapy. There was no clinical benefit from sertraline. Side effects and survival were similar between groups. This is not a therapy for people with chronic breathlessness.
