What is it about?
Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an infrequent pathogen causing community acquired pneumonia (CAP). Specific risk factors that include the presence or absence of prior infection/colonization due to P. aeruginosa and one of the three chronic lung conditions[i.e., tracheostomy, bronchiectasis and/or very severe COPD]) determine the different rates of P. aeruginosa CAP.
