What is it about?

Air pollution in Bangladesh, particularly in the big metropolis of Dhaka has reached many time fold the levels considered as acceptable standards for now several years. A such, we estimated the risk of several cardiovascular and respiratory diseases that such air pollution can impose.

Why is it important?

Air pollution in developing countries poses a substantial long-term risk of increased prevalence of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases and cancer that will impose major health, social and economic burdens on already fragile infrastructure and economy. Major coordinated initiatives aimed at reducing air pollution are urgently needed.
