Do community demographics, environmental characteristics and access to care affect risks of developing ACOS and mortality in people with asthma?

What is it about?

People with asthma who live in areas with higher material deprivation (i.e., areas characterized by lower socioeconomic status) have a higher risk of developing asthma and COPD overlap syndrome (ACOS) and have a higher risk of dying. Living in areas with higher levels of air pollution may also increase the risk of death among people with asthma.
