Computed tomography quantification of emphysema in people living with HIV and uninfected controls

What is it about?

This study compared lung computed tompography (CT) scans from a large number of people living with HIV and uninfected controls. Our results demonstrate that well-treated HIV infection is unlikely to be associatied with lung emphysema and the effect of tobacco smoking seems to be similar, irrespective of HIV status.
