What is it about?
India is one of the most unequal countries in the world. Therefore access to health care also varies from one social group to the other as it does from region to region. The present paper endeavous to understand the factors which influence access to health care by vulnerable groups, particularly Dalits.

Why is it important?
Given the state initiatives which have been take to improve access to health care on one hand and condition of the vulnerable groups particularly Dalits on the other, makes it imperative to understand why is there a gaps which persists in health outcomes as it does in access to services. This paper highlights some of these issues.
