What is it about?

Visual methods support emotional work, reflection and dialogue in management education. A review of relevant literature highlights implications for management educators considering their use, including the need to appreciate the nature of aesthetic-visual methods, the need to select and evaluate their use according to pedagogic criteria, to create suitable spaces for their use and the need to develop appropriate facilitation skills. Practical implications for teaching are highlighted, drawing on the authors' teaching practice.

Why is it important?

Management educators can identify the benefits, opportunities and considerations associated with the selection, development and use of visual methods.

Perspectives

For me, this publication helps practically connect important themes about visual methods and management research / education with effective teaching practice. It emerged from my own research with visual methods and their use with undergraduate students at a University in North East England.
