What is it about?
The integration and mobilization of different and contradictory internal activities or processes necessary to achieve the current viability and also the future development of the company (ambidexterity), often requires scarce resources and complex structures that are unique to large companies. However, this study analyzes that the effect of firm size on this success is contingent on other aspects.

Why is it important?
Companies that develop certain environmental scanning and analysis routines and integrate them into their strategic decision-making can achieve similar ambidexterity levels independent of their size. Therefore, small companies can also adopt ambidextrous positions when adopting specific routines that can compensate for some of the size limitations while also benefiting from their flexibility.
