What is it about?
This article stresses the importance of specialized training in journalism and media studies that focuses on children issues and rights in Africa. The precarious situation of African children who are meant to be the future of the Continent foreground this call. This specialization is named Children Journalism and Media Studies (CJMS) or Children Journalism and Media Education (CJME), and can simply be put as Children Media Studies (CMS). The article outlines the relevant courses that this programme should offer. It also emphasizes the need for partnership among journalists in order for the interest of children to be protected and their rights promoted.
