This paper studies the feasibility of using geodesic domes as expeditionary protective structures, since they are fast-assembly lightweight structures and able to withstand very heavy loads due to their specific geometry.

We show that geodesic dome provides a safer environment, as a protective expeditionary structure, for the personnel inside these protective shelters.
