What is it about?
The study provides an anatomic evaluation in a cadaver model of three different access to the maxillary sinus: middle meatal antostomy, inferior antrotomy and canine fossa approach and compares them in terms of visualization of the maxillary sinus

Why is it important?
The maxillary sinus can be affected by different inflammatory and neoplastic conditions. While the endoscopic approach via a middle meatal antrostomy is the most common approach, and most conservative, it's doensn't allow for full visualization of the sinus. Less common, in some cases almost forgotten approaches, empowered by endoscopy, can allow for further visualization of the sinus in selected cases. The inferior antrotomy, a modification of which is proposed in the article, is an especially versatile tool whose potential is explored in this study in a cadaver lab setting.
