Why is it important?

Lumnitzera littorea (Jack) Voigt. (Combretaceae) is a small mangrove tree that is spread over the coast of the tropical and subtropical areas of Australia, Polynesia and Southeast Asia to the East coast of Africa. In traditional medicine.

Perspectives

For the other Thai species, L. littorea, there are no phytochemistry reports. Herein, we reported the isolation and structural characterization of a new macrocyclic lactone together with three known compounds from the crude methanolic extract of the twigs of L. littorea.
