What is it about?
The treatment of a men whit a rare condition is described. In hand therapy, the focus is often on improving the impairment. Here the focus was on occupational performance by observing the way he performed his work as a baker. This made the main problem apparent, an unique, adjustable wrist splint was made to solve this problem.

Why is it important?
There is evidence for the effectiveness of occupation based hand therapy interventions and it is also found that Occupation Therapists do not use it very often. It divers the Occupational Therapists from the Physical Therapists. Un unique, adjustable splint is described.
Perspectives
Writing this article gave me more insight in the importance of occupation based hand therapy and its minor roll in todays hand therapy practice. I hope this article will bring the focus of Occupational Therapists that work in de field of Hand Therapy, will be more on performance and occupation.
