Why is it important?
Health messages have been used for many years for changing behavior. However, the achievements were low. Recent studies have identified more motivational factors other than health and disease that could bring positive changes. Disgust is one of them. We innovated a cheap device that could demonstrate effectively how piped water could be contaminated with human feces. We tried to motivate people to treat their water before drinking at the household level using this device which is based on disgust as a motive.
