Why is it important?

Driving simulators are a rapidly developing technology commonly integrated into the screening, assessment, intervention, and training process to enable driving performance. This textbook is among the first in the field and presents evidence based on current research, best practice guidelines, and practical examples for use of driving simulators. The authors compiled an evidence-informed, scholarly book review to outline their insights into the textbook’s advantages and limitations in practice and research.

Perspectives

Working in teams, authors of this book review completed a comprehensive critical appraisal for each chapter’s clinical relevance, objectivity, references, accuracy, writing style, and learning features. In combination with editor and technical editor feedback, the critical appraisal was integrated into textbook development. The critical appraisal process contributed to the textbook’s clinical utility and content accuracy, and the resulting scholarly textbook review informs driving rehabilitation professionals of the textbook’s utility in practice and research.
