What is it about?
Individual Growth and Development Indicators are relatively new measures for infants, toddlers, and preschool children. These measures have a variety of purposes -- but in particular are well-suited to monitor young children's development toward important academic and social outcomes, so that teachers and programs can provide intervention that helps children reach desired goals. This study asks a simple question: Can we measure growth -- change over time -- for preschool 4-year-olds?

Why is it important?
Measuring growth, and associating this growth with characteristics of children and the intervention they receive, is a first essential step in identifying children who might benefit from additional intervention.
