Why is it important?
In our large series of kidney transplant recipients, IPA was found to be one of the most important cause of death in patients with lower respiratory tract infection. Fungal infections of lung in immune-suppressive patients should be diagnosed immediately in order to avoid the life threatening complications and may greatly improve prognosis.
