What is it about?
Interpersonal forms of trauma are among the most commonly reported traumas. This type of trauma has been strongly associated with somatic symptoms and more general physical health problems. The results suggest that interpersonal trauma exposure is associated with poorer physical health; however, the role of intervening psychological variables remains unclear.

Why is it important?
This is the first time that this type of qualitative review has been conducted. The findings showed that further research is needed to identify the psychological variables that contribute to the association between interpersonal trauma and physical health, and under which conditions this association occurs.
