What is it about?
this paper explores the challenge of conveying the 'texture' of our experiences in action research (ie the themes and the issues) whilst not losing a sense of the rich and dynamic experience itself.

Why is it important?
in our research we need to display our sense-making process and theorising through identifying themes in our data. When we do this we sometimes remove the 'colour' from our experiences. This paper is important as it introduces two methods which seek to do both and invites researchers to share other methods.
