What is it about?
In an effort to relocate refugees within the European Union, the European Commission has proposed a distribution key, that determines for each member state a 'fair share' of refugees. It is shown that this distribution key displays a paradoxical mathematical inconsistency. The article shows as to why this leads to unfair consequences and proposes an alternative distribution key.
