We study the the human resource management impacts on the labour productivity in tourism sector in Canada.

It is very important to study the human resource management impacts on labour productivity in tourism sector in Canada. The tourism is a labour intensive industry, and labour productivity is considered low in this sector. In Canada, the population growth is low. Tourism sector's jobs need people and the labour supply in the sector is facing shortage. With the low population and shortage in labour supply, improving labour productivity is very important .

Perspectives

A good human resource management does have positive and significant impact on the labour productivity in tourism sector in Canada. The higher labour productivity leads to higher output/income in the sector. As a result, the worker working in the sector are able to enjoy higher payment. The the higher pay allows the tourism sector to attract more productive and creative labour, which finally helps the development of the sector.
