What is it about?

This article reviews the evidence of the efficacy of CPAP treatment in patients with cardiac arrhythmia. Previous studies on this topic are summarized to help in understanding the current knowledge and gap and to guide future research studies.

Why is it important?

Obstructive sleep apnea is associated with several cardiovascular consequences. Treatment of OSA with CPAP treatment may improve cardiovascular outcome. Therefore, it is essential to understand the current evidence and to highlight areas of potential future resaerch.

Perspectives

The current evidence of the efficacy of CPAP treatment in patients with arrhythmia is insufficient. Future research studies are needed.
