Why is it important?

"Poor cat housing is one of the greatest shortcomings observed in shelters and has a substantially negative impact on both health and well-being" Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters - The Association of Shelter Veterinarians, 2010 https://www.sheltervet.org/assets/docs/shelter-standards-oct2011-wforward.pdf

Perspectives

It has been a pleasure to write this article together with Drs. Hurley and Stavisky. It reflects much of the knowledge and understanding I have gained on the role of housing in shelter animal health and well being. Great to be a part of this exciting area of animal sheltering.
