What is it about?

The everyday work that makes a difference to people's lives is often taken for granted. This vital everyday work is performed by school teachers who educate the next generation, the shop assistants who provide goods and services needed for living, and the mums who raise children. Their careers are just as important as individuals working in high profile professions.

Why is it important?

The findings of our research demonstrate that the psychological skill of career adaptability is just as important to these vital workers as it is to high profile professions. Their career adaptability is a strength that can be used to improve their job satisfaction and personal productivity.

Perspectives

I am particularly pleased with this research because it shines a light on the people who often go unseen in society but whose contribution to society, day in and day out, is so important to us all.
