What is it about?

When it comes to university sexual assault policies and services, the male students who participated in our study expressed sometimes conflicting worries about wrongful accusations and about unacknowledged male victimization. These concerns were sometimes shaped by participant cultures. We provide recommendations that can help support students navigating post-secondary sexual violence response systems.

Why is it important?

Campus communities are increasingly diverse, including students from many different cultures and countries around the world. Sexual violence is a sensitive topic that is viewed and responded to in different ways by different cultures. It is important for sexual violence service providers and policymakers within post-secondary institutions to understand the sexual violence-related perspectives and concerns of students from diverse backgrounds.
