This study explores characteristics of caregivers' mediating behaviours of supporting preschool children's emergent ltieracy development mediated by mobile technologies (i.e. laptops, tablets and smartphones).

Why is it important?

This study embraces the role of media menteorship in libraries, but acknowledges such a role demands training for library practitioners in order to effectively support children's and families' literacy needs in the digital age.

Perspectives

I hope this paper helps library practitioners realise what they can do as media mentors for supporting children's and families' literacy needs in the digital age. I hope this paper is thought-provoking.
