Heart failure (HF) is a leading cause of hospitalization across the world and is known to cause ill-health and heavy economic losses. Fenofibrate treatment protected the heart against chronic heart failure in rats.

Why is it important?
The study for the first time demonstrates the ability of fenofibrate to ameliorate the baroreflex sensitivity along with ventricular functions,ECG alterations, and ventricular hypertrophy in ISO-induced HF in Wistar rats.
