What is it about?

Inspect the acceptability of the rod system for pedicle screw fixation among the rod systems by comparing range of motion (ROM) at L3L5 segments, stresses and strain on implant, vertebrae and IVD under normal physiological loading conditions.

Why is it important?

The FRD rod system generates less stress on vertebrae by sharing more load compared to PEEK rods.

Perspectives

The FRD rod system increased ROM by 2, 7.9 and 4.4 times for flexion–extension, lateral bending and axial rotation, respectively, compared to the SS rod system.
