What is it about?
Students with low previous knowledge in math will instruct the teachable agent in details.Conversely, it is found that students with high previous knowledge in mathematics will skip steps in instructing the teachable agent.

Why is it important?
We provide evidence that prior knowledge in mathematics can influence the engagement of students in the tutoring process. Teachers, who utilize an ITS to teach their students, can better understand the behavior of their students during the tutoring process.
