Why is it important?
This article is important because it provides up-to-date information on the current concepts of treating PCL injuries. Over the last decade, the treatment of PCL tears has advanced significantly. While in the past the results of PCL reconstruction outcomes were not good, newer techniques based on anatomic principles and biomechanically validated reconstructions, such as the double-bundle PCL reconstruction, have resulted in outcomes that are similar to those seen in patients who have ACL reconstructions.
