What is it about?
The study looks at the difference between using either 1 tunnel or 2 tunnels for a transtibial pullout technique for a posteromedial meniscus root repair.

Why is it important?
This article is important because it demonstrates that using 2 tunnels for a meniscal root repair has better apposition to the decorticated bone for a meniscus root repair. Thus, these patients have a higher chance of having better healing of their meniscus root repair compared to meniscus root tears that are repaired with 1 tunnel alone. While there was no statistical improvement, using 2 tunnels did have a higher pullout strength which would indicate that there is no deleterious effect to having 2 tunnels instead of 1 tunnel.
