Why is it important?

The BIR survey is the world's longest running information survey and is an indicator of current issues and emerging trends affecting the information professionals. The rapid change in new technologies is very impactful on information - how it is provided, consumed and interpreted. Bad data or misinformation is a very current issue.

Perspectives

Perpectives on the integrity and ethics of the data that we all use in everyday life is critical. Even more critical is the impact this can have if those managing information for our corporate organisations don't get that right. Understanding the role information professionals play in ensuring data we use is of the best quality and as free from bias as possible is very important.
