Why is it important?
Childhood overweight and obesity is a major health concern, associated with many health problems in children, and needs to be addressed urgently. Adolescents have the highest rates of overweight and obesity in children under 18 years old. Sugary drinks are a significant contributor of excess energy and sugar for adolescents, and we need to look into methods and programs to help adolescents reduce their intake of sugary drinks.
