What is it about?
In this study we examined how changes in Texas state law impacted enrollment in gifted programs. We saw that when accountability measures were stronger that gifted programs had more students in them. When accountability measures were removed, enrollment in gifted programs dropped.

Why is it important?
This study provided evidence that state policies can have major changes on the size and strength of gifted programs in public schools. This can provide important information to gifted education advocates as they work to improve the education of all children.
