What is it about?

Composite tooth restorations were clinically and micro morphologically followed-up for 29 years. The risk of secondary caries around such fillings was very low and micro fractures did not contribute to failures.

Why is it important?

The long term investigation with parallel assessment of clinical parameters and micro morphological features over three decades is unique and demonstrates the dynamic changes of tooth surfaces and restoration deterioration and improvement over time.

Perspectives

The publication contributes to clinical safety and biocompatibility of restorative materials replacing tooth dentin and enamel.
