Why is it important?

This article is important because it offers a possible rationale for police attitudes toward African American males.

Perspectives

This article evolved from a academic lecture I gave on the killing of unarmed Black men by police. The response from the talk was overwhealming so I converted the talk to an article that has since won a national award.
