What is it about?
This article explores the ways that young people’s views are included in news reports about teen pregnancy, abortion and other sexual issues. We examine how their voices are framed and whether they are able to resist negative or stereotypical representations of youth sexuality as necessarily being a problem.

Why is it important?
Young people are often silenced or ignored in public discussions of issues that concern them. We are interested in whether the media allows them to make a meaningful contribution to discussions and how their voices might be amplified.
