What is it about?
We studied different ways of generating new ideas that are practical and compelling among 6 different groups of employees in one organization. A method for using the stories that come from Appreciative Inquiry disovery interviews, called "synergenesis", created more compelling and practical ideas than normal AI methods or problem-focused brain storming. We also found that after the problem-focused conversations, participants mental maps about the issue were significantly reduced and impoverished compared to those who participated in AI discovery interviews
