What is it about?
In this study we characterize CARES act provider relief funding to psychiatric care organizations. We find a more widespread distribution of relief funding across different organizational sizes in psychiatry versus other specialties, but substantially less relief funding to psychiatric care organizations per provider relative to amounts reported in other specialties. The disparities in provider relief funding are surprising given specific earmarks of the CARES act to improve the nation’s mental healthcare capacity and merit further attention.
