What is it about?

We studied the prevalence and treatment of children and adults with a diagnosis of OCD in a Medicaid population. • Few children (0.2%) and adults (0.3%) were diagnosed with OCD in this Medicaid sample. Fewer than half of children (41%) and adults (38%) were receiving FDA-approved medications (with or without psychotherapy of unknown modality); another 19% of children and 11% of adults were receiving psychotherapy of unknown modality alone. Our findings support prior evidence that OCD may be undetected and underdiagnosed in public behavioral health systems.
