Development, Testing, and Dissemination of a Public-Facing Tool to Help Consumers Find Higher-Quality Addiction Treatment

What is it about?

We describe the development, testing, and launch of a public-facing addiction treatment–provider search engine with quality metrics that reflect the signs of higher-quality addiction treatment as described by the National Institutes of Health. The quality measures were found to be reliable and valid and to vary significantly among providers. A website containing the quality measures was publicly launched in July 2020 in six states and may help improve the quality of addiction treatment.
