Loneliness and Resting-State Functional Brain Connectivity Among Older Adults: A Proportional Correlation

What is it about?

Loneliness-related functional features of the brain were examined in older adults with concerns about cognitive decline. Loneliness severity was positively correlated with functional connectivity between the right hippocampus and left lateral parietal lobe in the default mode network. Increased loneliness may be associated with an increased risk of dementia.
