Why is it important?

Denmark have restrictions regarding prescriptions of benzodiazepines. In last years prescriptions of BZRAs have declined while many off label drugs increased. The reason for the regulations was the high amount of BZRAs use previously, and too some degree the addictive potential of BZRAs.

Perspectives

Public Health regulations interfere with doctors prescriptions pattern. However we should remain aware of the consequences, such as prescriptions of less efficient medications. Pro and cons of every regulations should be evaluated often. Thus the amount of people, who become addict to BZRAs should be valued against the amount getting less efficient treatment.
