What is it about?

Retrieval of origin and strength of unknown hazardous releases in the atmosphere by using concentration measurements provided by a network of sensors is a challenging inverse problem. This paper proposes an algorithm for solving , in a fast and accurate way, this problem.

Why is it important?

The proposed algorithm improves the emergency assessment capabilities and minimizes the associated risk and mortality in accidental or intentional dispersion events and industrial hazards.

Perspectives

I hope that this algorithm will be used , in future, for reconstructing source terms in real complex scenarios.
